Deduce the probability that their unborn son will be blood group O. Explain your working.

Any three of these points for 3 marks:
Both Amand and Padmavathi must be heterozygous because their daughter has inherited two ‘i’ alleles.
Amand’s genotype is lAi. & Padmavathi genotype is lBi.
Blood group is an autosomal gene, it is not sex-linked/not affected by gender.
The probability of their son having blood group 0 is 25% (1/4, 0.4)
