For what use are batteries connected in series? For what use auay g*19* xpw*p m*xekre thu(i) 3uwn n;uxey connected in parallel? Does it mn;)3 u(iuuwx natter if the batteries are nearly identical or not in either case?

参考答案:

Batteries are connected in series to increase the voltage available to a device.  For instance, if there are two 1.5-V batteries in series in a flashlight, the potential across the bulb will be 3.0 V.  The batteries need not be nearly identical.

Batteries are connected in parallel to increase the total amount of current available to a device.  The batteries need to be nearly identical.  If they are not, the larger voltage batteries will recharge the smaller voltage batteries.
